Candy Cake Shop

my weekend was uber awesome! told you earlier i went to London. and i ate a looootttttt. need double workout tomorrow and the whole week ahead. haha. well, as we walked along carnaby street (i didn’t shop i’m too poor), my eyes apparently caught a cute little shop. i thought it was a toy or cute stationery shop. but as i walked closer, it was actually a cake shop!! oh my goodness you wouldn’t believe how excited i was that time. those little sweets (cupcakes, cakes, ice cream, macaroons, etc) are way too cute, i was really drooling over them. the speciality of this shop is the candy cake, as it is named. so i got one for me! (was about to buy 5 different flavours but fortunately i was still sane enough). enjoy the pictures below!

i wonder if there were a part time vacancy as a ‘food and sweets’ tour guide all around London. i would be very pleased to escort anyone interested in this kind of thing! i will take you to the heaven of sweets and desserts. haha. sweets are my lust and passion. and i know for sure that they are my weakness. haha. and London? undeniably a perfect place to discover new sweets shops. i wish i could afford train ticket to London back and forth every week. haha.

p.s. the candy cake shop has several branches. but i visited the one in carnaby street.

Betty’s Cafe Tea Room

established since 1919, this restaurant is a famous destination in York for the travellers. a lot of delicious cakes to satisfy my tongue and tummy. i did try the salmon fish cake with spinach sauce as main dish as well. so heaven! oh and the decoration is darling. ok, i just can’t stop worshipping. i know i’m a sucker to sweet stuffs and nice places to eat in. haha. (i didn’t exactly remember the name of the cake i tried. i just remember they tasted magnificent! haha)

what amused me the most is the fact that it owns a cookery school which we can enroll for short course. and laugh all you like, i was tempted to be in. haha. sounds good to fill in free days after dissertation and holiday. haha. don’t be surprised if you see me a master in the future. hhaha.

Laduree i’m in love!

well, i’m back after awhile! i’m a bit loose these days after handed in my second essay. next essay is due next 2 weeks. so, still got plenty of time. haha, a typical deadly proscrastinator, you know what i mean. well, as i promised myself i needed a short break after essay submission, there i went for sweet escape: daytrip to bicester and london! and did a little shopping. woohoo! this time i find that shopping is such a stress reliever. haha. i.should.stop.buying.things.seriously! it’s not like i can print the money my own in order to afford my desire to buy things. well, girls are always girls.

as you see the picture, it’s my ever favourite: macaroons laduree! i love the coffee, pistachio, vanilla, liquorice macaroons. and for the very first time i ate in the shop instead of having a takeaway. i don’t know how the created those sweet in taste, good looking, smooth crunchy texture of the macaroons, i just loved them! if i ignore the diet program i’m currently in, i think i have special ability to finish all the macaroons in the shop. haha. is it too much if i take macaroon as the greatest invention ever? well yes maybe, but that’s what i think. hehe. ok, talk to you later! xx

p.s. i sneaked around to take the picture. but then one of the shop assistant got me.

my old dutch

hopefully i don’t bore you with my food posts! haha. i just found out i post quite often about food and anything sweet which honestly is my natural habit (i mean eating). i just discovered this place, again in London. i was really craving for pancake once upon a time that i asked Mr.google to direct me to the best place. and voila, he gave me this place, my old dutch. so i thought this place might worth a try.

for those who don’t know, pancake is originally dutch’s ‘pannekoeken’. i tried the original sweet pannekoeken. and was so surprised by the giant dish, as in TREMENDOUSLY BIG. haha. the pancake tasted very good, very soft, chewy, and sweet. perfect! but the fact that it was served in a super size failed me to finish it. i didn’t prepare myself enough spaces in my tummy. and maybe i wasn’t physchologically prepared for that size. haha. but it is undeniably delicious. i should stop by again someday after skipping my breakfast and lunch. i promise. haha.

p.s. nutella is the greatest innovation i reckon! hahaha..

Cafe creperie

How could I forget to post about this place? call me sweets monster (not because i’m sweet but thank you if you think I am haha), I visited the Kensington Crêperie, located in South Kensington (which becomes the place I visit the most in London), near the tube station. It serves many kinds of crepes. I tried the Banana Rhum Chocolate crepes (cost £5.75). and it is yuummmm! thin pancake or crepe consists of banana, rhum, belgian chocolate, icing sugar. the cafe itself is very traditional, so french. love!

The Kensington Crêperie

this is a good point about London. you won’t get enough list of interesting places to visit. London can never bore me. haha. but please be aware, it results in sudden bankruptcy at the same time, which becomes the bad point. and South Kensington is one of my favourite place because it has everything to please my hard-to-satisfy-tummy. boyfriend, as a local says that South Kensington is probably the France of London. and I get even more excited. haha.

p.s. oh well, I got my Schengen visa already. I’ll be in Holland and nearby this spring break to visit my aunt and her family. probably what i’m looking forward to about next month, although I have a lot of essays’ hand ins before holiday. eerrr.
