Healthy eating project

My most favourite time of everyday is cooking for my husband! haha. Well, honestly I don’t cook three times a day. What an effort because it generally takes 1 hour for one cooking session (and we will likely finish the meal less than half an hour, haha). Husband doesn’t like big meal for breakfast. That’s good for me because I don’t have to cook in early morning, yay! So usually I cook twice a day (in the afternoon for my lunch and late afternoon for our dinner). Recently, we are up to healthy lifestyle. We assumed healthy eating would make a good start so vegetables dishes always top our kitchen menu. My favourite vegetables are pictured above, broccoli and carrot. I’m really into simple and easy cooking and what I usually do is sauteing them altogether with simple seasoning. Quick and easy! haha. Cooking for vegetables is easy yet tricky. I should make up my mind for vegetables dishes variation in order to make tummy happy, healthiness assured and kitchen lively. Anyway, happy Friday! Weekend is just around the corner, yay!

p.s. I’m writing again for my other blog macarons and cupcakes. x

Our traditional wedding ceremony

Our parents always tell us that no matter how far we travel, or no matter how globalisation and modernisation take its toll, we should not forget our root simply where we come from. We are both Batak. We’re so glad that we were given such an honourable opportunity to experience our own Batak wedding. It was so memorable and we’re going to remember it forever. It is important in our culture to hold the traditional ceremony to make it official for us to participate in further traditional activities. In all honesty, neither of us has in depth understanding on every detail of the traditional activities but we want to learn and participate our best. This coming Saturday will be our first showtime, haha. Wish us luck!

Last weekend …

chunk of our living room.

We drove to Bandung to visit my in laws and stay at their house. It’s been a while since my last visit and I realised just yesterday how much I had missed this city. Since I left my camera at home (how did I never learn?!), there will be no pictures related to last weekend. Here are for some recaps:

1. Lots and lots of chats with mum in law (while Michael went out for a business meeting). Included to the chatting session was mum in law shared her secret cooking recipes, yay! Can’t wait to experiment them myself. Anyway, I really love both my mum and mum in law! They are gorgeous ladies and I learn a lot from their inspiring life story. I hope I can be as good as them.

2. Saturday night dinner and after church lunch with sisters and brothers in law. Lots of fun! We had a lot of good foods, too.

3. On our roadtrip back home, we were dancing and loudly singing oldies songs in the car with beautiful sky at dusk as our company. It was mix of orange, red, blue, purple and white. Such a perfect moment, very beautiful!

4. On Sunday evening, husband helped me designing a website for a project I’m going to launch soon! Can’t wait to spill the details but I don’t want to jinx it.  I love my husband for being a very supportive one.

5. Had mocca cake all night to wrap this sweet weekend. That means, I’m no longer on diet! Eat well, exercise more!

How’s your weekend? Hope it was relaxing so the working days ahead will put you at ease. Have a good Monday! Stay healthy, stay happy, stay safe, stay productive! Till then, dear readers!

Morning routines, sort of..

After taking off Michael to work, I always start off the day reading at least a chapter of a book, drinking lots and lots of water, a bit of house cleaning then exercising. Let’s call them my morning routines. I’m hoping to successfully fulfil my 2012 resolutions, in which two of them are 1) be more organised as a person, and 2) read all the books I bought then abandoned last year (haha). I have a lot of new books displayed in our mini library at home and I feel guilty every time I want to buy new books (but seriously, we can’t never have too many books, right?!) Wish me luck!

Have a good day!

chatter from a newly wed

Hi all! How are you? They are some pictures of our pre wedding photo shoots. All of my clothes were tailor made. I picked all the fabrics and searched for the designs myself, based on the inspiration board given by the photography team. The photo shoot themed “Summer of love” all in vintage 60s vibe (biggie thanks to Lighthouse Photography team for the superb job). I’m so glad they turned out really nice. We had massive fun during the photo shoots. Michael even suggested that we do this kind of thing every year (not the pre wedding but the photo shoots) and he regretted later after seeing me overexcited with this idea, haha. He should have anticipated my reaction. Find more of the pre wedding pictures on our wedding website.

So it’s been almost three weeks since we got married. I really enjoy my new role as a wife, and thank goodness Michael has been really helpful with everything about domestic chores. We are new to many things but we are very excited to do those new things. Needless to  say, we are happy! Note to myself, I need to put extra hard work on organising and keeping the house clean, haha. That Michael is very patient about this matter makes me a bit guilty. So I promise myself to learn and be better.

We are currently considering about creating a blog together. hmm.. we’ll see how it goes later.
