Rattling on.

Hello, gorgeous people! How are you doing?

I’m back in Jakarta now after spending jolly happy time with my sister in the US for about 18 days (it was a week later than planned). Good news is, still a handful of stories and pictures with me and along with that good news is the bad news, my body is drained, that is. I normally spent more or less two hours to produce a sort of structured post (which includes sorting out pictures, down-sizing them, writing, editing, re-reading, and final-checking) Thereby I decided to give the travel-stories a short break. Now, I’m just going to rattle randomly. Haha..

-    The Whooga ugg boots that I wrote a while ago contacted me and brought some good news that they just made first partner with another ugg boots store, Fleecyboots, and that they recently did a shoot with Reality TV Star Tenley Molzahn. How cool is that, seriously? I’m happy to hear from them.  Please don’t hesitate to have one click or two at the link to see what they have to offer!

-    I stopped over in Istanbul for 6 hours on the flight journey that took me back to Jakarta and more than that, I had a quick meet-up with my bestfriend back in Birmingham, Selin. Yes, it was veryyyy quick but we had a good time catching up stories. More about this later.

-    I’m not sure if I’m currently having jet lag sickness or not. But my sleeping time has become really weird. It’s been 3 days that I slept at 9-11 pm, 1-6 am, 1-3 pm and 5-6 pm. In total, I slept 11 hours a day, ha! Is that jetlag? Or a mere lazy brat that I am? Too much sleep isn’t healthy, seriously, but I just couldn’t help. Hopefully my normal sleeping mode gets to me real soon.

-    I miss my sister a lottt! It feels quite bizarre not having her around at home. Well, it’s usually me who’s not at home, it’s usually me who travels, it’s usually me who lives alone. I’ve never been in her place until now and yes I tell you, it’s weird like something’s missing. But I hope she’s doing well there, makes good friends and enjoys her life there to every bits!

-    It’s my fault that I stuff mountain of Reese’s peanut butter chocolate into my luggage from the US. I myself can’t stop eating them, gosh!! Planning to stock up only one package at home and now, it turns out I unsealed two more packages when they’re supposed to be giveaway (that’s to say I’ve finished 3 packages. well, my papa and I, more exactly). I need a serious help to refrain from eating Reese’s!

-    I’m tempted to do Pilates as it elicits positive comments from many people. I haven’t gone for places-research, though. If you’re reading this and you have a good and unpricey place for one in Jakarta to recommend, that would really make a huge favour! Thanks!

-    As much as I enjoy this job-seeking process as well as my plenty of free time, I really pray and wish to get a job soon because I’m feeling like working and doing things. That’s it. So, wish me luck!

-    Got myself a new instax wide camera, tee hee. Pictures are shown at the very top of this post. The camera is big and bulky!! But I think I like its results better than the instax mini’s, probably because they resemble the classic polaroid pictures than the instax mini’s results do.

I told you before. This is a random post, haha. But I hope you enjoy it, anyway. So, I’ll see you again very soon on my travelling stories, pictures, and all that bits! Have a good day!

For the love of cupcakes

For someone who has a binge with cupcakes like me, visiting the USA of course equals to visiting the best-known cupcake shops (well, along with the American food as burgers and hotdogs), around the country. It goes without saying that this country leads in cupcakes business. Thus, it’s a crime not to. During 17-day of stay, I ventured out for some of them and below are some of my most favourites.

1. Sprinkles. We tried that one in Chicago. I knew that this cupcake shop is well-known, thus we paid some visits. First visit, I scored the red velvet and truth be told, it is the best and most perfect cupcake I’ve ever had. Delicious beyond words can describe. The second visit, I tried the chocolate with buttercream cupcake. Not a second thought, this cupcake shop is already a win in my heart. Both flavours tasted heavenly, magnificent! As a matter of fact, I’m still in Chicago now and will catch my flight back home tonight. It’s highly likely that sometime today I’m visiting again, probably staying put at the shop all day long, having some sort of goodbye-romance with all the cupcakes then I’ll be good to go.

2. Magnolia Bakery New York City. This cupcake shop, I had never heard of before. However, my New York City guide book told me that this place is a must visit. How dare this book challenge me with a cupcake shop recommendation, eh? I was even more curious as I bumped into a lot of people with ‘magnolia bakery’ bag tucked in their hands. So there we went! My sister and I visited the one in Rockefeller Centre (there is also one in Greenwich Village, according to that guide book), I had pistachio cupcake for me, my sister had red velvet cupcake for her. I wholeheartedly love my option and secretly wish that I could come back to this city some time soon, only to have more and more of this pistachio cupcake. The icing is very smooth with a strong pistachio-taste. I simply love it. Ouch, look at those pudgy cheeks at the picture right below, it might look deceiving but I’m hiding two giant cupcakes inside. You just can’t see that, ha! I’m lying, of course. That’s the sum of the enormous amount of cupcakes and food I’ve been taking. Boo!

3. Georgetown cupcake, DC. I recently followed the DC cupcakes’ TV series. Having the opportunity to be around the city for a day, how on earth could I resist not to the famous cupcake shop, Georgetown cupcake?! I tried out two flavours: red velvet and mint chocolate. For the red velvet, honestly I like the sprinkles’  better. This one here got a very milk-taste icing, just not really my choice, sorry to say. But it has a very nice texture, too! Smooth icing and cake, I love the cake! The mint chocolate one, on the other hand, tastes really nice! Aww, love it and want more of it now! Anyway, just as seen in the telly, we had to queue to get inside the shop and make our order. I can foresee that this cupcake shop must be everyone in town’s sweetheart.

I’m drooling now as I finish this cupcake shops review. Finish packing now, head to the Sprinkles then! Anyway.. whilst in the middle of packing, I found out that everything is totally in despair for whatever’s sake. This mound of stuff (most are souvenirs, I don’t shop that much) really gets me crazy. And to make things worse, proper-packing isn’t quite my knack since I was born so this is a real big problem. I’m pretty sure my luggage will be that hefty one. As I went halfway through, another fact’s revealed that there’s no way all those stuff can fit my-already-giant-luggage. Shoot me now, people.. yes, please!

Things wouldn’t be this miserable, though, if I could fly with a luggage-ful of dainty cupcakes.. I wish.
