What was I thinking, seriously?!

Did I mention I wear red lipstick to…. the market?!?

OK, laugh as you please. Hope I won’t be as crazy again.

Someone starts to miss Christmas time

These are some left pictures of last winter when a friend of mine, Tyas, was coming over to London for a few days. It was really nice having a friend or relatives coming over, I even commuted Birmingham-London to meet her although the weather was totally terrifying at that moment. As far as I remember, it was the days when heavy snow was having the entire country and there were major disruptions in train line and all. But fortunately, I could finally get to meet her and we picked Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park to meet up of all places, haha! Twas a really good time!

Anyway, speaking of winter (which I happen to miss just now, weirdly), to cover ourselves in the most comfortable and warmest outfit is the key thing to survive. As for me, my weakness is in my both feet which get numb easily in cold weather. I always wore two layers of thick socks before the shoes themselves. In fact, as I’m writing this, I picture ugg boots in my mind in regards to being comfortable, yes with that sheepskin! Whooga uk, come as an alternative brand of this type of boot, manufacture ugg boots with dense and thick fibre that can both keep us warm and allow a good air-circulation around the feet at the same time, which can surely be a good thing! Toodles!

Columbia Road Flower Market

Last Sunday was actually a day in London that I promised boyfriend he wouldn’t find himself (1) making an endless walk with me along the Oxford Street, Carnaby Street or Covent Garden for some research given my walking-pace, heaven knows why, ridiculously multiplied by ten or even greater only when doing the research, or (2) sitting aimlessly by a cafe while waiting for me doing that research in the aforementioned places. By research, you know what I mean. So, instead, we paid a visit to Columbia Road Flower Market.

Columbia Road Flower Market was actually on top of the list of places I’ve always wanted to visit but never had the chance, except yesterday. It was a Sunday market opened from 9 am to 3 pm. We took the Tube, got off at the Old Street Station and made quite some walks to reach the market (thanks to Google Maps, our saviour). All along the journey from the station to the market, we were given a view of traffic of people bringing flowers of all kinds and I knew I had reached my destination as soon as I heard the “three for a fiver, three for a fiver” or “three for a tenner” being yelled by the merchants. Well, I did notice from the first place that this flower market was famous, but it still surprised me of how packed the place was upon our arrival. However, having seen that view, I didn’t hesitate a bit to join them even if that meant I had to let myself be squeezed among the people. What probably didn’t come as a surpise was that I busied myself taking pictures whilst people were busied hunting for plants and flowers, haa! I guess this particular experience also had me master juggling to take pictures in such crowd and to escape from being squeezed, which was tough by the way. But most of all, I was so happy to see many different beautiful flowers and plants, not that I’m being cheesy here. I love the lively atmosphere.

By the road side stood small restaurants and shops selling variety of vintage goods: ranging from crafts, home interior, paintings, furnitures, art decorations to clothes. A giddy happy kid I was at that time! Who can seriously resist seeing such cute stuff?! not me, surely. I scored a cute Orla Kiely glass and some cute colourful letters of my initials. The last two pictures are from the Ryantown, a gallery of Rob Ryan. He is my favourite artist of anyone else and I seriously have a very strong liking towards all his works with those cute paper cuttings. And the last picture captures some of his works in the gallery, they are very costly. But they deserve the price, for sure. That’s the wrap up of my visit to Columbia Road Flower Market. I love trying new experience of travelling. How’s your weekend? : )

Anyway, a bit off topic.. I was really saddened by the recent news of disaster going around. My thoughts and heart are with the people in Japan. One thing I do know, however things are breaking down, we can always hold on to hope and take the courage to rise again. Let’s hope and pray for the best!

Street-style picks

HAPPY WEEKEND!! These are my street style picks of the weekend (courtesy of facehunter). The blog and the pictures really bowled me over! Love love! Anyway, last week my life was such a whirlwind but hopefully that was supposed to mean good. Positive thinking! I’m off to London now! So, expect for some pictures of London coming on this blog (if and only if my lomo complies with my rule and becomes a good kid, oh c’mon sweetie!). Last but not least, have a blessed Sunday friendsssss!

Continuous ramble

Good news: my lomo is back to normal (at least I guess so)! After all those awkward symptoms I couldn’t quite get a hang of. But we need to forever bear in mind that it’s an analog camera. Some symptoms might be unexplainable and unpredictable so we better just get on with its mood-swing and love it regardless. I took a little walk along the city centre and captured some pictures as seen above.

On the left is me handing a Chai Latte from Starbucks which I later found out I didn’t really like, oops I mean I didn’t like at all. That was my very first try anyway, so got lesson learned. I at first reckoned it was going to taste something similar to Green Tea Latte I used to have but turned out completely different. From now on, I’m going to stick to Caramel/Coffee Frappuccino in every next-visit.

In the middle is the very famous scuplture from Antony Gormley. I’m nowhere close to being knowledgable about art and the appreciation of it (apart from some painters and musicians I know). I just enjoy art as it is and I don’t care so much about the meaning, although (only a few times) I do dig for information for a few. So, I’m afraid I can’t tell a lot about this particular sculpture. teehee..

On the right is a Church located in about Selfridges Bullring and St Martin Market. I love the picture for no reason. I guess it’s that classic feel: showing blue sky, old building and a little snippet of tree branches.

Another random fact, my face is growing some unexpected pimples at the time being. Sigh.. It is most probably prompted by the high level of nutella and peanut butter intake in my body. So, a temporary break is most needed now (a real heartbreak!). Anyway, I don’t know why I ramble this much, haha! Bed is calling then. Toodles.
