London with lots of love

Here go some pictures I snapped from a very short London trip I had yesterday. And again just like the preceding trip, I travelled light, in a sense I didn’t take a proper camera along with me. My lomo throned.

Far ahead in the picture above is the Liberty London department store. I love this department store more than any department stores I’ve been, not that I shopped a lot there, given the fact that most of the stuff was out of my price range. I really couldn’t refrain from flicking through all the collection, thoroughly. Some of the brands were new to me which I had never heard of before, and all of them were decent pieces. If I’m allowed to take a straight line or define the style of all pieces, I would probably come with “a mixed of vintage, quirky, and elegant” (correct me if I’m wrong) and what marvelled me more than the collection was the nuance inside. It was like discovering hidden gems inside an old house.

That the London Fashion Week AW11 just left a few days ago (and London Fashion Weekend is coming this week) made everything still feel a lot like fashion week! They had this runway in about the centre of the store.

Above is the A.P.C collection. I slightly think there is a secret romance impending between A.P.C and I. I’m loving the spring collection. The lookbook is already a win in my heart.

Then finally, getting a box of Pierre Herme macarons to mark the finale of that short trip. Off I merrily went home with the almost die feet yet a happy heart! So yes, that’s pretty much a wrap of my yesterday’s trip which I wholeheartedly enjoyed.

5 happy things on Monday

1. had rainbow cake left-over from yesterday for breakfast.
2. added some new bright-colour goodies to my wardrobe
3. finally received my biometric invitation letter. fiuh.
4. created a set of bedroom idea in polyvore (shown as picture above)
5. the fact that I’m going to London back and forth, tomorrow! woohoo!

Don’t you think that listing down things is the best way to express something when you aren’t very chatty?! If yes, welcome to my world! haha. So, how’s your Monday rolling? Hope everybody got on well with things. I’ll talk to you later!

You ever wondered how rainbow would taste?

actually it tasted yummy! At least, I guess so..

My kitchen was so colourful this morning because I baked this cute little cake. The taste was awfully delicious (perhaps because I used a decent vanilla cake mixture. haha.) However, the surface was a bit brittle, which I presume, because I didn’t apply baking spray. You didn’t want to know how frustrated I’ve gone to find that holy spray all around the town and I couldn’t find even one. So, bye baking spray! Yesterday I found it was sold in Amazon. Well, maybe it’s worth a try again next time. To be honest, the full version of the cake covered with buttercream fondant was quite a shame. I decided to cut it into parts and photographed only a little part of it in order to make it look nicer. teehee.. I still need to revise and practice. However, I’m quite proud of myself on how this particular one has turned out. I’m happy!

This weekend has been glorious and delicious! went shopping and bought some good stuff (woohoo!), watched movies at the cinema, had a bowl of scrumptious mussels treat from boyfriend, cooked miso soup with teriyaki marinated chicken (yummy! sorry, I completely forgot to photograph this miso soup. next time!), and baked this rainbow cake! I’m going to exercise in a bit and attend Sunday service this evening. I believe you had a glorious weekend, too! Toodles!

A little date

Nope, we weren’t there for Valentine’s dinner but for our monthly anniversary date which was due yesterday. We used to do this kind of celebration some years back when we were still in Bandung. So this is sort of happening again after a long pause (even if it doesn’t mean we’re going to do the same next months). I love him. I love to feel that this love we have grows naturally and gets stronger each time, that we learn to put aside our own ego and selfishness, that we help and encourage each other to be a better person. And more importantly, that we believe God is before all our plans. He is before and for us, and we are for Him.

Enjoy when you can, endure when you must.

I tell you what, being a recent graduate with no job and still seeking for one, sometimes is quite, well.. boring. I’m not moaning here seriously. Everybody has been in this stage, I suppose. Well, of course you are that lucky one if you have never been there. I now have a plenty of hazy lazy days. In fact, I have always been, am and will always be a sucker to a hazy lazy day. But, imagine we have it everyday, what’s really fun then? Similarly, working everyday with no hazy lazy day or simply day-off is not good at all. Life in balance, that’s something I’m keen on. Therefore, everytime as I wake up in the morning (or when I depart to bed at night) I always make up my mind about what I would want to do the whole day (or next days).

Thankfully enough, being in this life-phase allows me to do anything I want with some encountering. I have quite a growing list of activities to pack my everydays with fun. Well, as you have noticed cooking and baking are in that list and I’m proudly saying I’ve done a good job. Another fun thing is to dress up and shoot, as in having photosessions. Claiming that I’m a religious reader of fashion blogs and magazines (shamefully, I open bbc website for a mere weather forecast news but guess I’m lucky to have this kind of boyfriend who reads world news all the time and will tell me what he gets, promptly. On the other side, twitter has also done very good to keep me updated. haha. so I guess, even so, I still keep myself aware of the recent issues), I feel so inspired and want to try myself. and ta daa! see pictures below. haha.

I did try not to give my toothly smile as some of the fashion bloggers did, some even didn’t smile at all, they are just so good at it. However, my attempts didnt last long. I felt weird myself and couldn’t help but grinning and toothly smiling to the camera, haha. That’s just my natural instinct. So yeah..this picture below tells it.

The idea is actually to see how my style transforms from time to time. I do want to look good and feel good for my own pleasure. So, we’ll see how it goes. On my next fun list I will bake a rainbow cake one of these days. I’m not sure when, but I will! Anyway, there is a wiseword saying “Enjoy when you can, endure when you must”. I guess this is the time to enjoy myself, and when the time has come for me to endure a harder responsibility, I’ll be ready. It is just yet to come and I’m looking forward to it!
