i spent my saturday in York. and it did rain! (as forecasted) the weather was really get my nerves. i didn’t expect spring would be that cold. ok, never trust weather in the UK. as a friend of mine told me, “don’t expect too much from the weather here”. i wonder when i can stop complaining about the weather. maybe it will never happen. well, no matter what, i love York. i’ve really wanted to go there since long long ago but i just managed to travel yesterday. York is fabulous, very historical, classic, astonishingly beautiful! it has a lot of vintage shops, buildings, delicious delicatessen and traditional tea rooms. and i’m fond of all! and the scenery was WOW! well, no wonder that York is on the top of England tourist destinations.

so the journey was as follow: i arrived in York at 12-ish. it’s a lunch time then we decided to get something from Betty’s cafe tea rooms. i love it to bits! and i think it deserves an exclusive post which i’ll do later. then we headed to the museum garden. beautiful garden and ruins of ancient masterpiece building. the museum (Yorkshire museum) was currently under construction until june. well not that bad. because we could still enjoy the garden atmosphere and took loads of pictures with the ruins. love! next destination is the York Minster cathedral. it is beautiful! there was a wedding ceremony when we came. what an experience! as we walked through the street, we reached the shambles streets where vintage shops are lied. this is a famous area. and again, lots of tea rooms along the way. tea is very British mind you. i bought a little fluffy rabbit doll from Peter Rabbit store. so happy like a kid, haha..ok, pardon me. next, it is the Cliffords tower in the castle area. i think (i hope i’m not wrong) it’s sort of fortification tower in the old days (during war period), to watch for the enemies. dig for more information from the reliable source here. i’m never good at history telling. haha. and before we wrap up the whole trip, we took a York boat trip. then go back to Birmingham!
i.love.york!
friday used to be the most favourite day of college. not anymore now because it doesn’t relieve me that weekend is coming. well, but this time i decided to enjoy the atmosphere of friday. mingled with the people around city centre and did a little shopping (yes, again. kill me!) the dress i’ve been hankering for since forever was on sale. and me being such an impulsive one thought that i was a stupid if i blew it off. haha.

don’t you miss my picture? or just pretend you do. haha. anyway, tomorrow i’m going to York. woohoo! (the weather forecast news says tomorrow is going to rain. i don’t care anyway.) let’s rock York. xx
oh yeah, 1 more essay and 2 exams!!!! i suppose this summer holiday i’ll 80% stay here in the UK though i’d love to travel overseas. i don’t see any possibilities so far. i hope i still can travel around the UK in between research project. finger crossed.

well, i’m back after awhile! i’m a bit loose these days after handed in my second essay. next essay is due next 2 weeks. so, still got plenty of time. haha, a typical deadly proscrastinator, you know what i mean. well, as i promised myself i needed a short break after essay submission, there i went for sweet escape: daytrip to bicester and london! and did a little shopping. woohoo! this time i find that shopping is such a stress reliever. haha. i.should.stop.buying.things.seriously! it’s not like i can print the money my own in order to afford my desire to buy things. well, girls are always girls.
as you see the picture, it’s my ever favourite: macaroons laduree! i love the coffee, pistachio, vanilla, liquorice macaroons. and for the very first time i ate in the shop instead of having a takeaway. i don’t know how the created those sweet in taste, good looking, smooth crunchy texture of the macaroons, i just loved them! if i ignore the diet program i’m currently in, i think i have special ability to finish all the macaroons in the shop. haha. is it too much if i take macaroon as the greatest invention ever? well yes maybe, but that’s what i think. hehe. ok, talk to you later! xx
p.s. i sneaked around to take the picture. but then one of the shop assistant got me.
